Gainesville Texas HI - HO Drive In Movie Theater at www.pinballrebel.com
When I was a child we would often attend shows at the Hi-Ho Drive In in Gainesville, Texas. I remember seeing Journey to The Center of the Earth and others here. One of my many memories is that they had an usher who walked from car to car checking on patrons. The objective was to keep the theater from living up to its reputation as the passion pit. I have no idea when the theater went into operation nor do I know exactly when it closed. I have a feeling it closed in the mid to late 1970's. A hotel sits on the property today along US Highway 82.
